Joey Scout Mob
The Joey Mob for boys and girls aged 6 to 8yrs. The emphasis is on fun and friendship and a gentle introduction to a world of challenges and adventures through Scouting.
A trained Joey Scout Leader guides a Joey Mob of up to 20 boys and girls as they learn to share and care for each other in a social environment. It's more than school as it extends each child's understanding of the world around them. Joey Scouts learn how to recognise native birds and animals and develop an understanding of the impact of our modern world on the environment.
Joey Scouts are encouraged to express themselves creatively, through games, stories and craft activities. Building monsters and spaceships from scrap items, growing plants from seedlings or singing songs together all develop a strong sense of belonging.
Our Joeys meet on Wednesday afternoons from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
Cub Scout Pack
Cub Scout Pack is for boys and girls aged 7˝ to 10˝ yrs and is all about learning through fun…fun…fun! The Cub Scout Leader of the Pack is called Akela, taken from Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book in which Akela was the Leader of the Wolf Pack. The Assistant Cub Scout Leaders are given names such as Baloo (the Bear), and Bagheera (the Panther), which are also in the Jungle Book.
The Pack is divided into groups of about six, called Sixes, one of whom is the Sixer assisted by a Seconder.
Weekend activities are varied and almost limitless, eg sleepovers, hikes, outings, sports days occasional get-togethers, campfires and one or two camps (called Pack holidays) per year.
